A Statement on the Assassination of Charlie Kirk

09/14/2025

I never knew him, not personally nor professionally. However, I have been following him and his activities throughout college campuses over the years, and especially the organization that he would found, Turning Point USA. I even had the opportunity to see him, albeit from a far, being held back by protestors. For some, he was a role model, for others his name was short-hand for things they disagreed with. For some still, he was a friend, a father, and a husband. On September 10th, 2025, Charlie Kirk was fatally shot while at one of his stops on his America Comeback tour. This was an act of extremist violence. Charlie was shot merely because someone else didn’t agree with him. He was not a politician, he was merely a guy that wanted a chat, and was shot for it. My thoughts and prayers go out to Charlie Kirk’s family and the TPUSA team. Below I have drafted a prayer, if you so feel inclined, please feel free to recite it.

“G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, may you show your mercy on these 50 United States, for we have strayed. We have let our differences define us, and burnt the bridges we were meant to build. We have let extremism and hate fester unchecked on our campuses and streets, O G-d forgive us for we have been negligent. O G-d give us the strength and what hope is left to rebuild and heal. May Charlie Kirk’s Family find peace and comfort, may Charlie Kirk’s memory be a blessing. G-d have mercy on us all, G-d help us all, O G-D SAVE US ALL.”

To those who decided to celebrate this news, I have a special message for you. Please for the Love of G-d and anything else holy stare yourself in the mirror and ask why on earth are you celebrating. Why are you so willing to celebrate a man getting shot in front of his wife and kids just because you didn’t agree with him? Do you realise this makes you no different than the terrorists that celebrated 9/11 as the Twin Towers fell and a portion of the Pentagon crumbled? Why did you feel so quickly to celebrate just as you did when a music festival in Israel was shot up and the attendees were murdered, tortured and raped on 10/7? Why did you celebrate like you did when a beautiful couple was shot and killed in cold blood at the Capitol Jewish Museum in Washington DC? I implore you, please reflect on yourself. A life is a life is a life. Life is precious. No matter how much you disagree with someone, violence is NEVER an option. I implore you to reflect on yourself and ask where your humanity went. It’s not too late to retrieve it, so please, reflect.

Your Friend in the Shadows
